The San Juan river in northwestern New Mexico is a tail waters small midge river. Wide and shallow in the upper flats; deep in the narrow gouge. This river has some of the best trout fishing in the US. Lunker size trout are common. It is surrounded by Indian Reservations with an old mexico flair.
